  1. 01 · SERVICELAW SCHOOL

    Service.

Sabrina Jadunandan’s path to criminal defense began at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. In its Domestic Violence Clinic, the law stopped being abstract: she helped people seek injunctions and divorces at moments when safety, family, and the next step forward were all on the line.

  2. 02 · THE STATE’S CASE2014

    The State’s Case.

After earning her J.D. in 2014, Sabrina went directly to the State Attorney’s Office in Orlando and served as a prosecutor in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit. That work taught her how criminal cases are assembled, how witnesses are prepared, and how the State builds an argument before it ever reaches trial.

  3. 03 · DUI TRAINING2016

    DUI Training.

In 2016, Sabrina attended NHTSA field-sobriety training alongside law-enforcement officers, studying how the exercises are administered and what officers are trained to observe during a DUI investigation. She later trained officers in DUI detection and courtroom testimony. That inside understanding now shapes the questions she asks for the defense: Was the investigation performed correctly? Does the evidence support the conclusion? Did the State meet its burden?

  4. 04 · THE TURN2018

    The Turn.

In 2018, Sabrina moved into criminal defense and found the work that fit her: standing beside people while challenging the government to follow the law and prove its case. Her approach is prepared, direct, and unafraid of a hard fight.

  5. 05 · THE NAMEPRESENT

    The Name.

The DUI Gyal grew from that approach — and from home. “Gyal,” the Caribbean word for “girl,” was a word Sabrina heard from her Guyanese mother. It became a name that holds both sides of her story: the daughter of immigrants shaped by discipline and hard work, and the courtroom advocate who refuses to back away when a client’s rights are at stake.

She knows how the State builds a DUI case. Her work now is to test every part of it.

A DUI Arrest Can Affect More Than Your Driver's License

A Florida DUI charge can threaten your license, employment, finances, reputation, and freedom. You may be wondering what happens next, whether you can continue driving, and whether the charge can be reduced or dismissed. You should not have to face those questions alone.

As a Florida DUI and criminal defense attorney, I help clients understand the charges against them, evaluate their options, and make informed decisions. When you hire me, you receive personal attention, straightforward advice, and a defense strategy based on the specific facts of your case.

Section 02 · Casebook

Careful Review of the Evidence

A DUI arrest is not the same as a conviction. The State must prove its case with legally obtained, reliable evidence. I review each case for weaknesses that may affect the outcome, including:

  1. Whether the officer had a lawful reason to stop your vehicle

  2. Whether field sobriety exercises were properly explained and administered

  3. Whether body-camera video supports, or contradicts, the police report

  4. Whether breath, blood, or urine testing complied with Florida law

  5. Whether medical conditions, injuries, footwear, or road conditions affected the investigation

  6. Whether your statements and constitutional rights were handled properly

I do not assume the police report tells the entire story. I compare it with the available video, test results, records, and other evidence before advising you about the best way forward.

Understand

Direct Communication & Personal Attention

Clients deserve to know what is happening in their cases. I explain the court process, answer questions, discuss the evidence, and keep clients informed as their cases progress. You will understand what the prosecution is alleging, what options may be available, and the risks and benefits of each decision.

Decide · Act

A Strategy Built Around Your Priorities

Your concerns may include keeping your license, protecting your career, avoiding jail, or limiting the long-term consequences of a DUI. Your defense strategy should reflect those priorities.

Depending on the evidence, that strategy may include challenging the traffic stop, seeking to exclude evidence, disputing impairment allegations, questioning chemical-test results, negotiating with the prosecutor, or preparing for trial. No attorney can guarantee a result. What I can promise is diligent preparation, clear advice, and determined advocacy in pursuit of the best outcome the facts and law allow.

  • · Keep license
  • · Protect career
  • · Avoid jail
  • · Limit consequences
Two Proceedings

Help With the Criminal Case & License Suspension

Track 01 · Criminal Case

Court proceedings — arraignment, motions, resolution or trial.

10 Calendar Days

Prompt review window · Administrative

Track 02 · Driver's-License Suspension

Administrative review with the Florida DHSMV — separate rules and deadlines.

A Florida DUI arrest can create two separate proceedings: the criminal case in court and the administrative driver's-license suspension. These proceedings have different rules and deadlines. A written request for formal or informal review generally must be submitted to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles within 10 calendar days of the date of arrest or issuance of the notice of suspension or disqualification, whichever is later.

Contacting a DUI attorney promptly can help you understand the available license options and begin protecting your rights in both proceedings.

An arrest does not define you.

Many people charged with DUI have never been involved in the criminal justice system. My role is not to judge you. It is to listen, protect your rights, and help you move forward.

I represent people facing DUI and criminal charges throughout Central Florida. Clients choose my firm for personalized attention, clear communication, thorough evidence review, and practical guidance from the beginning of the case through its resolution.

If you were arrested for DUI in Central Florida, do not wait to learn about your rights and driver's-license options. Contact attorney Sabrina Jadunandan to request a confidential consultation and discuss the next steps in your case.
