Do I need a DUI lawyer if I am charged in Florida?
Sabrina's answer is yes, unequivocally. Florida's DUI statute carries minimum sanctions a judge must impose, and a DUI conviction cannot be sealed or expunged from your record. Probation, fines, classes, a licence suspension, and vehicle-related conditions all follow. An experienced defense attorney knows where to look for evidentiary problems and defects in the investigation — issues that can change the outcome from a conviction to a dismissal. That review is difficult to do alone.

Welcome everyone. It's Sabrina the DUI gal and one of the more popular questions I get on my console is, do I need a DUI attorney? And 100%, unequivocally, yes. Have an attorney because here's the thing with the DUI statute, it comes with minimum sanctions that the judge must impose. There's not much we can do about that. And it includes an automatic conviction of guilt, which means you cannot take it off your record if you wanted to. 12 months of probation, fines, classes, a license suspension, a vehicle and common. It's a lot, a lot of things that go into a DUI. And I tell you what, without having a experienced defense attorney, that's a lot to have to walk out of court with if maybe you have evidentiary issues in your case or there's problems with the investigation because an experienced defense attorney knows what to look for. And instead of walking out with the DUI, you might be walking out with the dismissal. And who wouldn't want that? So, it's important that you hire somebody who knows how to litigate your case and fight for you to make sure you're not walking out with the DUI if you don't have to.
